Counseling Sessions
Scheduled therapy calls last for 45-50 minutes. Sometimes you can get what you need in just one therapy call. If you need more support, we’ll schedule 3 or 4 sessions.
On every call you can expect:
- Compassion. We’ll listen, offer empathy, and validate your feelings and experiences.
- Conversation. We won’t judge you. You can share whatever is on your mind, including feelings and thoughts about whatever is troubling you.
- Confidentiality: Conversations are kept completely confidential. We respect your privacy and the sensitive nature of the discussion.
- Tools. We’ll work together to identify coping skills, at home exercises, or other activities you can do to get immediate and long-term relief.
- Resources: Depending on your needs, we can connect you to local therapy groups, counseling services, treatment programs, and more.
- Relief: Before your call ends, we’ll ensure you feel better than when you first called. And you can call again anytime if you need to talk in the future.
When talking with us, you’ll never feel abandoned or alone. We listen, we support, and we connect you with what you need to feel better.

The counselor who answers your call will be trained to quickly understand what’s going on, offer you immediate support, and help you find practical solutions to manage whatever you’re going through.
All counselors who answer your call are trained to provide the support you need, no matter the circumstances, with empathy and discretion.
Once we decide our service is a good fit you, you’ll schedule one or more therapy calls with a trained, masters-level clinician at a time that works for you.
No matter who you talk to, we understand what you’re going through and will listen without judgement. We’re specially qualified to deliver support and help you find practical solutions to manage whatever you’re going through.

Isabella’s Story
Isabella* was working in Oregon, saving money in hopes of one day reuniting with her young children who were back home in her Latin American country. But the guilt and stress of leaving her children behind in an unsafe living situation was almost unbearable.
Isabella was in despair, harming herself and thinking of suicide.
The idea of getting mental health support felt out of reach. She was alone, didn’t speak English, didn’t have health insurance that covered counseling, and couldn’t afford to miss work.
Then Isabella discovered the Behavioral Health Support Line.
A Spanish-speaking crisis counselor offered Isabella free telephone counseling sessions. Counseling from a highly trained and caring call counselor, in her native language, made all the difference for Isabella.
Isabella stopped harming herself and found more confidence and capacity for life.
The Behavioral Health Support Line helped Isabella shift her mindset and see herself through a new lens. She walked away with a better sense of her true worth, an ability to control what was causing her stress, and tools to protect her mental health moving forward.

“We walk with you through it, so you don’t feel alone.
You can just talk and nobody will see your face.
You’ll have the same length session you would normally get elsewhere.
And you can meet at a time that works for you.
And the most beautiful thing – this is free!”
